这个系列在美国可谓是家喻户晓，伴随了几代孩子的童年成长。

相当于我们国家的“黑猫警长”“葫芦兄弟”的地位。如此经典的故事，你没有读过就OUT了。

故事开头是Mr. Putter日常的生活描述，Mr. Putter独自一人生活，喜怒哀乐一人独享，难免寂寞，就想着要是有个伴就好了。

于是Mr. Putter就去宠物店里逛了一圈。Mr. Putter看了宠物店里的动物，表示那些动物都太闹腾了，他不喜欢。

他想要cats，于是店长给他推荐了kittens，（大家可以细看下书里kittens的表情）普特先生不满意，说想要的是cats，而不是kittens。

于是，店长说cats不cute，不peppy （lively and full of energy）大家感受下以上的画风，和cute好像也搭不上边。

但是作者的意图也是这样，普特先生要的并不是一只kitten，就只是cat，而cat应该是啥样呢？
